dinner $9.25, lunch $7.75
Trey and I spent our spring break at SXSW and had to try out a new Thai restaurant while we were in town. After walking around town allll day, we searched out Thai Tera at the advice of a friend. It was a cute little restaurant on the corner of 6th and Nueces. It had with a nice dining room (tablecloths, candles, and a bar) and an outdoor patio, but it wasn't anything too formal.
What's in it?
It comes with the obvious meat choices, or shrimp for $1.25 extra, and of course, I chose tofu. In it was egg, almost unnoticeable tiny pieces of red onion, sparse chives (all that was there is what you can see in the pic). On the side was bean sprouts, crushed peanuts, and a dressingless salad (possibly to mix in, but I just ate it plain). The dish is enough for one person, but I needed help to finish it.
How was it?
Pretty darn good, I thought. It was just sweet enough and had plenty of flavor, near perfect. I liked the fried tofu triangles. They were cooked just right, and there were a lot of them, but Trey didn't think as highly of them as I did.
Was it worth it?
Yes. I would get it again, but the menu is so extensive that I would be tempted to try something new. It's not as cheap as some, but still reasonable. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere that would be appropriate for a date or just a nice meal.
