Mama Fu's Asian House

★★★1/2 /★★★★★

Pad Thai $7.95

On New Year’s Eve Emily and I went to Mama Fu’s in Austin for dinner. I had never heard of it before, and I love new restaurants, so we decided to try it out. It turns out it is a chain restaurant, similar to Pei Wei in the broad Asian style, but it is a sit down restaurant with a waiter and menu.

What’s in it?
Your choice of protein (I got tofu), medium amount of green onions, bean sprouts, carrot pieces, big chunks of egg, and peanuts. The dish was pretty big, definitely enough for 2 people to share.

How was it?
I thought it wasn’t very sweet, a little vinegary, but with a pleasant aftertaste. In my opinion, it could have been a little sweeter and a little spicier, overall it seemed dulled down.

Was it worth it?
The Pad Thai was just okay. It was a lot of food for a decent price, just not what I see as my ideal Pad Thai. I had a nice dining experience and would go back to Mama Fu’s sometime to try something new.
